Sterile Services (GP information)
Introduction
The Sterile Services department at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital is a customer focused and forward looking department.
We provide a complete surgical instrument decontamination service to the Trust, many local GPs and Clinics. Our well trained and fully qualified staff process over 100,000 items every year to the highest standards.
The Department operates quality systems in line with ISO 13485, ensuring a consistently high standard of decontamination and service provision. We are also accredited to the European Medical Devices Directive MDD 93/42 EEC.
Employing state of the art computer tracking and tracing technology, we can offer robust instrument tracking. This enables precise control of instrument inventory and validation of decontamination processes.
