Black Maternity Experiences Survey 2025

The Five x More Black Maternity Experiences Survey 2025 has launched!

This survey is designed for individuals who identify as Black or Black mixed-heritage, are currently pregnant, have been pregnant, or have given birth since July 2021.

This year’s survey is designed to address not only the overall maternity experience but also take a closer look at the mental health of Black women / birthing people during and after pregnancy.

By gathering these insights, we hope to make meaningful recommendations that contribute to safer, more equitable maternity care for Black women / birthing people in the UK.

Access to maternity, L&D

Due to continued building works on the new build exterior at the L&D, our service roads will be closed for a limited period of time.

Calnwood Road service road closures:

Friday 16 May 2025, 4pm to 1am
Saturday 17 May 2025, 8am to 6pm

There will be no vehicle access (off Calnwood Road) to the main entrance of the maternity unit on 16 and 17 May 2025. Drop off and pick up will be in the St Mary’s car park only.

Main Service Road closures:

Sunday 18 May 2025, 8am to 6pm
Monday 19 May 2025 to Friday 23 May 2025, 4pm to 1am
Saturday 24 May 2025, 8am to 6pm

There will be no pedestrian access via the main service road (off Lewsey Road) on 18, 19 and 24 May 2025. For those requiring pedestrian access to the maternity unit, please use the main entrance on Lewsey Road and follow the route through the hospital buildings and corridors. Alternatively, access can be gained from St Mary’s car park.
