Hospital Support – Carers Hub – L&D

Carers Hub

At the L&D, PALS is situated in the main entrance of the hospital and operates from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, and can be visited by patients and families. The office is closed on Bank Holidays however a message service is available out of office hours.

If you feel the Patient Experience Matron or PALS Officer can be of help to a patient please refer them to the team, or contact extension 2626 and they will come to the ward to speak with the patient.

Pre-booked face-to-face appointments can be arranged for a Monday via phone or email.

Carers in Bedfordshire supports family carers living in or caring for a resident of Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough, or where the carer is registered with a GP practice in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough. Carers support groups

If you are a carer for someone living with Dementia, the Dementia Support Service are pleased to offer the opportunity to visit the carer support room to talk with an Alzheimer’s support advisor and discuss any clinical concerns you may have with a Dementia specialist nurse. No appointment is necessary. This is currently only offered at the L&D site.

The sessions will run from the 6 August, 1-3pm every Tuesday, in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of St Marys.
