Who We See

Our team provides psychological support to children and young people living with a medical condition, as well as their families. We see people who are under the care of medical teams at Bedford Hospital, and Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

At the moment, we can provide psychological support for people with the following medical conditions:

Paediatric Diabetes (including transition to adult services)
Paediatric Epilepsy
Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis
Paediatric Haematology

The clinical psychologist may meet you if you are admitted to the ward as an inpatient, or if you are seen in an outpatient clinic. Appointments can be for the whole family, just parents or carers, the young person on their own, or for siblings.

Unexpected closure of lifts in Beeden House

We have had to make the difficult decision to close both lifts in Beeden House after finding an unexpected fault during routine maintenance.

This means that there will be disruption to services and appointments on the upper floors of Beeden House.

We are currently contacting patients to find the best individual solution for them, minimise disruption and ensure they continue to receive the care they need. At this point you do not need to contact us, we will contact all affected patients.

The decision to close the lifts was hard, but we felt it was the safest decision to best protect our patients and staff.
