Renting or borrowing a Breast Pump

Renting or borrowing a Breast Pump

If you are likely to be discharged from hospital before your baby, if breastfeeding is not yet established or baby is needing supplemental milk, you will need to consider how you will continue to express breast milk at home.

A double electric breast pump is ideal as double pumping provides greater stimulation for parents who are separated from their baby (as well as saving a lot of time)!

Renting

If you would like to use the same brand of electric breast pump that you used in hospital you can contact the following companies;

Medela – visit the website or contact them by telephone on 01617 760400 (L&D Hospital)

Ardovisit the website or contact them by telephone on 01823 336362 (Bedford Hospital)

Borrowing

Staff at local Childrens Centres or your Health Visitor can arrange for an electric pump to be made available if they feel, after providing support that this could be of benefit.
