Public Governor Election 2023 – the process commenced on 1 June, and ended on the 25 August

The Trust gave notice that it will hold elections to the Council of Governors for Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust which includes Luton and Dunstable University Hospital and Bedford Hospital.

Elections are currently being held for the following number of governors in the following Public and Staff Constituencies:

Constituency and Class:

  • Public – Central Bedfordshire – 2 seats
  • Public – Hertfordshire – 1 seat

Results

It is declared that Saverio Bongo (Central Bedfordshire), Ian Michael Clayton (Central Bedfordshire), and Malcolm Rainbow (Hertfordshire) have been duly elected to the Council of Governors.

Their votes received were:

Central Bedfordshire:
  • Saverio Bongo – 458 votes
  • Ian Michael Clayton – 262 votes
Hertfordshire:
  • Malcolm Rainbow – 157 votes

Evolution of COVID, its health implications and the impact on our hospitals

Time: 6:00pm – 7:30pm, Tuesday 16 May 2023

Venue: King’s House, 245 Ampthill Rd, Bedford MK42 9AZ

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served from 5:30pm

There will be an opportunity to meet the Governors between 5:30pm and 5:45pm.

Come along to find out more about the ongoing COVID pandemic and how it is evolving.

There will be discussions around the long-term health effects of individuals who have had COVID, the types of vaccines that the viral and strep bacterial infections, how these illnesses are managed at home and much more.
