Rebecca Dixon

Gastro and Nutrition CNS Staff Nurse – L&D – Lifetime Achievement Award

Gastro and Nutrition CNS Rebecca very sadly passed away in July 2024 at just 38 years old, and her award was received by colleague Yasmin Wacey who had written her nomination. Rebecca dedicated 15 years of her life to her patients, and consistently went above and beyond to put patients first.

“Rebecca worked at the Trust for over 15 years and dedicated her life to her patients. She was the Gastro and Nutrition CNS and consistently went above and beyond in her role. She always put her patients first and would do whatever was needed to ensure they received care of the highest standard.

“She was incredibly passionate about patient care and was a truly valued member of the paediatric team something our gastro patients would wholeheartedly agree with. She worked closely with healthcare professionals across the country to ensure we were providing gold-standard care and never hesitated to speak up and advocate for her patients when that standard wasn’t being met.
Tragically, she passed away in July 2024 after a very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. At just 38 years old, she had dedicated over half her life to her patients at the L&D hospital. She is deeply missed by the team and her patients her presence was truly irreplaceable.

“As her successor, colleague, and friend, I strive every day to carry forward her legacy, to work with the same passion and commitment she had for her patients and for the service we provide.”
