Community/Labour Ward Midwife – L&D – September 2024 & February 2025 Honouree

September 2024:

“Bobbie is an amazing midwife! My journey started with her on my telephone booking, she was completely honest, friendly, and fully supportive of what I did and did not want. We spoke for so long, I felt like I already knew her!

“Bobbie looked after me during my pregnancy and was always available to help, even responding to text messages at 10pm. Nothing was too much effort for her, even if I was being dramatic at times. Bobbie made all the necessary referrals and followed them up. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I became anxious about things out of my control and she spoke to me on the phone, listened and reassured me, booking me in to see her in 2 days time. She always put the patient/mother first and went through all options with explanations. Bobbie actively practices informed patient choice and advocates for the women she looks after. I even wanted Bobbie to deliver my baby as I felt comfortable and cared for in her hands.

“Post delivery she messaged to congratulate me which again is above and beyond what she needed to do. Out of my three pregnancies I can honestly say she has been the best midwife I’ve encountered. I work in the L&D managing a ward and I can say with confidence that the NHS would be a better place if we cloned midwives like Bobbie!

“This lady had a student with her almost every occasion I saw her and the reason for that is clear, she is a great teacher: kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. There is no one more deserving of the DAISY Award than Bobbie! Thank you Bobbie for being the best midwife and keep being you.”

February 2025:

“Bobby made me feel at ease throughout my whole pregnancy, she was always friendly and approachable. She was always very thorough in every appointment and never made me feel like ‘just a number’. She was always on the other end of the phone if I had a question and always got back to me when she wasn’t available.

“I had a traumatic pregnancy and delivery with my first daughter, and she was so determined to make this pregnancy a better experience that she joined me in my planned C-section. I couldn’t sing her praises enough, she is a wonderful midwife. I wish all midwives could be like Bobby.”
