Pam received an incredible NINE nominations:

  1. They are so passionate about teaching and training student nurses, newly qualified nurses, and all staff in the surgical ward. They don’t just teach—they follow up to make sure you know exactly what to do. They’re always the first to get you booked in for relevant training
  2. Even when you’re doing something incorrectly, their presence alone encourages you to readjust—because they do not tolerate unsafe or poor practice. They’re not just a teacher—they are a role model.
  3. They were very supportive throughout my preceptorship. Always approachable and motivational. Their guidance gave me the confidence I needed as a newly qualified nurse.
  4. While studying at university, working full-time as a PDN for Surgery, serving as a PNA, and managing family responsibilities, they still found time for all of us—whether bank staff, HCAs, nurses, ward managers, or matrons. That level of commitment is inspiring.
  5. They recently organised Band 6 study days and created a Controlled Drug (CD) training session specifically designed for nurses. This has made a big difference in how CDs are managed safely across the ward.
  6. We are so proud of the positive energy they bring to the Surgery department. They are the best educator—imparting knowledge, building confidence, and showing exceptional dedication to our ward.
  7. Their resilience and determination have helped newly qualified nurses achieve their goals. They’ve gone above and beyond to make sure all staff stay up to date and competent. The support provided during preceptorship is amazing.
  8. Through their dedication, they’ve led workshops, training sessions, and mentorship initiatives. Their passion for education has improved patient care and created a culture of continuous learning and excellence in our department.
  9. They are always helpful when it comes to booking training, offering advice on what’s relevant, and signposting opportunities across the Trust. Their recent work training staff on CD management has greatly improved consistency and reduced errors. Patient safety has definitely improved because of their efforts.
