Woodlands (Paediatrics) Sister – L&D – April 2025 Honouree

In March 2025, a baby who had been on Ward 24 receiving BIPAP/CPAP support since February and was awaiting heart surgery at GOSH experienced a cardiac arrest on the ward. Staff praised Ellie for her exceptional performance during this critical event.

We also received heartfelt feedback from the baby’s mother, who wished to express her deepest gratitude to Ellie for her actions that day in saving her son’s life. The mother specifically asked the team to communicate to Ellie how grateful she and the baby’s father were for the swift and attentive care provided during their son’s sudden cardiac arrest. They felt reassured by Ellie’s calm and responsive manner, highlighting their belief that Ellie’s rapid intervention significantly contributed to saving their little boy’s life, alongside the exceptional care from Ellie and the medical team.

The mother mentioned she will never forget Ellie, describing her as “a blessing and an angel.” The baby has since undergone surgery and is now doing well.
