Events

The Limb Fitting Centre and Orthotics department fund a swimming group that is FREE to Limb Centre service users and their family or friends. We use the Swimming Pool in Kempston, Bedford which has a ramp access, those attending this group have found swimming very beneficial for many reasons including exercise, socialising and increasing their independence. Details of swimming dates and times are displayed in the Centre.

Patient Events for 2024

• 19 April 10am – 3pm, Get the Garden Spring and Summer Ready!
  Come and put your green fingers to use by helping us to cut back, plant, sweep and paint the furniture in the garden. No Gardening Experience Required!! Lunch will be provided so please let us know if you will be attending and if you have any dietary requirements
• 24 May 10am -12pm, Phantom Limbs
  This is an educational group about Phantom limbs and why you might experience a phantom limb. It is an opportunity to discuss your experiences and different treatment interventions will be discussed. You will have the opportunity to book further sessions following this session.
• 13 June 11am – 12pm, Listening Event
  This is a patient engagement event to get your feedback on what your limb centre is doing well and what we could improve. Please come along to give your feedback to improve your experience of the LFC
• 3 July 10am – 12pm, Health Check Day
  Specialist Limb Fitting Nurse to lead general health checks- drop in between 10-12.00 for a check of your weight, blood pressure, wound care information, diabetic information and contralateral foot care.
• 11 October 10am – 3pm, Close the Garden for Winter
  Come and put your green fingers to use by helping us to close the garden for Winter. No Garden experience required!! Lunch will be provided so please let us know if you will be attending and if you have any dietary requirements.
• 11 December, Christmas Event
