The L&D welcomed ten New Year babies on January 1st 2019. A special congratulations to the 10 families who celebrated the safe arrival of their baby on New Year’s Day. Eight girls and two boys were welcomed into the world – five of the babies were from Luton, two from Dunstable, one from Leighton Buzzard, one from Houghton Regis and one from Hemel Hempstead.
The first baby was born just 26 minutes into 2019. Baby Khan (pictured left) was born at 1.25am, weighing 3420gm and is still awaiting her first name! Aliza (picture middle) was born at 10.01 weighing 3405gm and Jaice (picture right) was born at 23.35 and weighed 3250gm.
To families of all our patients, we wanted to give a reminder that sadly, at both Bedford and the Luton & Dunstable University Hospital, we are still unable to allow any visitors on site, unless there are exceptional circumstances, for example in maternity or children’s departments, or for those patients who are receiving palliative treatment at the end of their lives, on a case-by-case basis.
At both our hospitals changes are being made to support services, and we would now ask that you contact the wards using the direct lines found here for Bedford and here for Luton and Dunstable University Hospital.
