Roald Dahl Nurse based at the L&D Wins Healthcare ‘Oscar’!

The Luton and Dunstable University Hospital (L&D) is proud to have a Roald Dahl Nurse on our team.

Elizabeth Joshua-John, has won a prestigious Zenith Global Health Award at a glittering event which is known in the industry as the ‘Oscars for healthcare professionals’! Elizabeth, a Roald Dahl Paediatric Haematology Nurse Specialist based at the L&D was presented the Nursing and Midwifery award on Saturday 5th October at the ceremony which recognises, showcases and celebrates healthcare professionals who have excelled in their area of speciality through management, patient care, education, research and innovation.

Judges said: “After carefully reading through the candidates’ supporting statements, the clear winner is Elizabeth Joshua- John. Why, because she is not only very diverse with her nurse expertise but very patient oriented with her care plan. She offers support to families and trains nurses. She is very robust and enjoys her job.”

Sophie Dziwinski, Head of Programmes, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity said: “We are extremely proud that Elizabeth, who has been a Roald Dahl Nurse for two years, has won this prestigious award. This is a fitting tribute to the hard work she does; she is a dedicated and caring nurse who goes above and beyond for her patients as well as in the work she does for our charity to help seriously ill children lead a marvellous life.”
