Changes to main patient drop-off point on Lewsey Road at the L&D

Date: 23/03/2021 | Category: General News

From Monday 29 March, the main patient drop-off point on Lewsey Road at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital (L&D) will temporarily be relocated further down Lewsey Road, outside Microbiology.

In addition, main reception, PALS and a member of security will be moving to a temporary building at the top of the service road.

There will be no access to the hospital via the current main entrance.

Gynaecology patients will still be able to access the Health Centre (J) through the external entrance on Lewsey Road.

These arrangements are likely to be in place until early 2022 to allow works to progress on improving our Urgent and Emergency Care services. This includes refurbishment of the existing ED, increased waiting room capacity to allow social distancing and a CT scanner situated within the department.

We will update staff, patients and visitors as work progresses.

This is a hugely complicated and challenging project that relies on working in and around busy environments. Your patience and understanding is appreciated during this time.
