Changes to accessing the Women’s Health Unit/Maternity Unit with effect from Monday 2nd September 2019

New maternity drop off signParking and car access

The drop off and pick up point for labouring mothers and those going home with a baby will now be via St Mary’s car park, accessed from Dunstable Road. These spaces are not for attending appointments or non-urgent attendance.

Follow the signs to the free drop off/pick up spaces (lined in red).

These spaces are time limited to 30 minutes only. If you stay longer than 30 minutes you will need to move your car to alternative parking.

The side entrance to the maternity unit will be open via an automatic door between 8am and 10pm. This door will be available via a buzzer system from 10pm to 8am.

On entering the corridor you will see signs directing you to reception and other areas of the unit.

The front entrance will now be for those attending on foot only. If you use a taxi please ask the taxi firm to drop you off or pick you up from St Mary’s car park via Dunstable Road.

Vehicular access will be now be controlled and will not be available to cars at the front entrance.

Clinic Appointments

If attending a clinic appointment please access the unit on foot via the front entrance and park in any of the available car parks or drop off in St Mary’s car park.
