Arrival of 31 Christmas and New Year babies spreads festive cheer at Bedfordshire Hospitals!

31 bundles of joy were welcomed to the world in our maternity units at Bedford Hospital and the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, with 16 babies born on Christmas Day and 15 babies born on New Year’s Day.

At 5:12am, weighing just 2710g, baby girl Magda was the third to be born at Bedford Hospital, part of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Mum Catherine said: “We couldn’t be happier with the arrival of Magda, slightly earlier than planned but she couldn’t resist being here on Christmas Day! Being Magda’s mum is the best present I could’ve ever asked for, and all the stresses and tiredness of motherhood disappear when she’s in my arms.”

Proud mum Katie, who also cares for her three wonderful step-children, said: “I am so thankful he arrived safely. He is already a much loved addition to our family!”
