Your Voice Counts

At Bedfordshire Hospitals there are several ways our staff can have their say.

Peer Listeners

We have a Peer Listener Service, which aims to provide a listening ear to colleagues when they are most in need. This service is based on the principles of psychological first aid. Our Peer Listener network consists of motivated staff members who are willing to provide this support when it is needed. Our listeners are appropriately trained and receive regular support for the role.

Freedom to Speak Up Guardians

Patient safety is paramount at Bedfordshire Hospitals and all staff have a duty to raise concerns so we can learn from mistakes and maintain a high quality of care. We want to encourage a culture of “speaking up” so everyone feels comfortable raising a concern and confident that it will be investigated effectively.

National Staff Survey

Each year staff are asked to complete the national staff survey.  This is a confidential, in depth survey which is vital in helping the Trust understand where things are working well and areas which may need additional focus.

All Staff Briefings

Each month our Chief Executive hosts a live online session which includes various updates as well as a question and answer session.  All staff are welcome to attend and submit any questions for our Executive team to answer.

People Pulse Survey

Every quarter staff are able to complete the People Pulse Survey which gives staff the opportunity to share their views.  This survey is designed to check in with staff to see how they are feeling and help improve the support we provide as an organisation
