Dr Anne Day is the Clinical Lead for Hepatology, Educational Supervisor to Junior Doctors and Trained Mentor to New Consultant Colleagues and Junior Doctors in training. Previous roles include Royal College Tutor for Medicine and Director of Medical Education.

Areas of Special Interest

Viral hepatitis, alcohol-related liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Education and Training

Dr Day graduated from Bristol University in 1995 with MB ChB before completing her higher medical training in Gastroenterology and General Internal medicine in the East of England, where she gained extensive experience in Liver disease and Liver transplantation at the Addenbrooke’s liver Unit. In 2007, Dr Day graduated from the University of Dundee with a PGCMedEd and then gained her CCT in Gastroenterology and General Medicine in 2008.

Experience

Dr Day was appointed as a Consultant at Bedford Hospital in February 2009. She set up and manages the Hepatology service, including the viral hepatology treatment service (a treatment spoke of the East of England viral Hepatology Operational Delivery Network).
