Light Up A Life

We are back with our annual Light Up A Life campaign raising funds for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Bedford Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit’s (NICU) Parents’ Accommodation at the Luton & Dunstable University Hospital (L&D).

Last year’s funds supported the purchases of overnight packs for mums at Bedford Hospital and has supported the renovations in the Parent’s Bungalow at the L&D. These are important and ongoing items which make all the difference to our patients and their families.

Each year we light up Sir Tom Moore’s Garden at Bedford Hospital and a huge Christmas Tree at the L&D. Each site has an official switch on to which everyone is invited to:

• Bedford: 29 November, 5pm start for a 6pm switch on
• L&D: 30 November, 5pm start for a 6pm switch on

Each event has seasonal music, refreshments and an opportunity to remember loved ones and, of course, a countdown to the big switch on!

Virtual lights are purchased and proudly twinkle for all to see. They can be purchased as a gift or in memory of a loved one. Names are then placed around the hospital sites on notice boards and on our website and are updated weekly.
