Breast Care Nurses

We are part of the Breast Care Team based at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, working in partnership with Breast Consultants, hospital and community staff and other health care professionals.

The Breast Care Nurses are specialist nurses who are dedicated to provide expert guidance on breast cancer treatment.

What we do
We provide emotional support, information and advice on all aspects of breast disease for patients, families and carers, from time of diagnosis, during and on completion of treatment. We provide information and advice on different treatments and treatment options.

The breast care nurses provide nurse led-clinics at end of treatment and follow up. We can help with and arrange the fitting of suitable breast prosthesis, practical advice regarding bras and clothing.

The breast care nurses can provide information and support regarding financial issues, breast reconstruction, family history and breast awareness.

Where appropriate we can refer patients for additional support, for example counselling. We provide on-going support at any point in the future should anxieties arise that relate to breast disease.
