Future Projects

Fostering links with our local communities

In Bedford Hospital there is currently a fantastic display of photographs near the care of the elderly wards, depicting historical industries in and around Bedford throughout the years.  This helps to root the hospital in the community and gives a sense of familiarity to patients, visitors and staff.

We will be expanding this project further across both hospital sites and hope to collaborate with Bedfordshire Archives and Luton Museums.

Site Redevelopment

The extensive redevelopment work that is taking place across both hospital sites provides us with an exciting opportunity to work with the redevelopment teams to incorporate new art projects into the plans.  Watch this space to see what appears!

Other art-forms

In our first year, we have focussed mainly on the visual arts and have also included some poetry in our projects.

However, in the future we would like to expand our remit to include other art forms such as music and dance.

Art Trails

Later this year we hope to launch self-guided walking art trails around both of our hospital sites.  Easy to follow maps will be available to staff, patients and visitors.

Working with other Charities

We are in the process of shaping a collaborative project with another local charity, as part of our rolling poster installation project.  We hope to bring you more news about this soon.
