Archer Ward is an adult unit at our South Wing site so is slightly separate to our Larger North Wing site. Our patients can spend many days here on the ward and so we would like some items to help keep them occupied and active.

Orchard Ward Gynae is a female ward where our patients come and have various procedures and recover from surgery. The needs of each patient varies into how they have been admitted to us. To be able to give each patient decency and respect these items are much needed to support us doing so.

Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) is where our prematurely born babies are looked after. We not only look after baby but the parents too. For most they do not expect to be up on this ward and so we need items to help us support both patient and parent.

Autism & Learning Disability Care is a unique area where we often have children with additional needs, we are making packs to give to these children to keep while they are receiving care across our Trust but them to be able to take them home.

Children’s ED are in desperate need of toys to help us keep the children distracted while they wait to be treated. The Emergency Department is a scary place so distraction is good for them.

Children’s Oncology supports our cancer patients and so we are unable to share toys, games and arts and crafts across the ward, we have to segregate the toys to ensure they are completely germ free. We need a large range of items as we treat patients of all ages.

Dementia Garden

The garden is in use by our patients for most of the year, we are always looking for ways to help keep our patients active and gardening is a way we can do that, plus it gives out patients some much needed fresh air, sunshine and a break from their bed.

Early pregnancy unit supports those patients who are experiencing pregnancy loss before 20 weeks. Most patients find themselves suddenly facing this without any preparation and are often admitted straight from an appointment. As such they do not have many items with them so we like to be able to offer them some items while they wait for family members to arrive.
