All staff are required to pay a daily rate of £2 to park in all hospital car parks. This includes car parks which are utilised by Trust staff who work in community sites.
Payment will need to be made through the APCOA Connect app within 30 minutes of arriving in the car park. The app can be downloaded from app stores. If you do not have access to the APCOA Connect app you will be able to make payment via www.apcoaconnect.com. If you select the SMS receipt / text option you will be charged an extra 20p. You do not need to do this as your purchase details can be retrieved in the app.

Staff based at Arndale House, will need to use the Estates Offices Staff – location code 3152.
The national requirement states ‘staff with a shift starting after 7.30pm and ending before 8.00am’ are entitled to free parking. We appreciate not all night shifts finish by 8am due to unforeseen circumstances and rotas, therefore car parking will be free until the shift has finished, as long as you have parked in the car park between 6.30pm and 9pm.
Staff with existing permits do not need to reapply and new staff can apply for a permit by following the process on the staff travel section on the intranet.
Salary sacrifice and monthly payment will not be available until the implementation of the new portal and we will be issuing further details about this as they become available.

This Induction is designed to give a formal introduction to the departmental processes. It is to be conducted by the Manager and/ or Team Lead of the new starter within the department.
The Local Induction should be completed within four weeks of commencing employment. A copy should be stored locally in the new starters personal file.
This Checklist must be completed and signed by the new starter and the Manager/Team Lead when you both agree that all elements have been adequately covered.
If the new starter is working in multiple departments, across multiple sites, they must ensure that the local induction covers all areas.

Bedfordshire Hospitals is committed to developing staff to support the work in current roles, future roles and also personal growth.
There is a large number of in-house training that is run by in-house experts or has been purchased to support your development.
There are times where staff may require an external course that requires funding and great news, this is available.
Departmental managers should complete an annual TNA and submit to the Non-Medical Education Team. All courses are reviewed and the outcome of funding allocation is communicated to the manager who submitted the TNA.
If you are looking for course funding within the financial year, the following must take place:

Your line manager must agree that this is an appropriate course for you and you have negotiated the time to attend.

All your statutory and mandatory training must be up to date.

You must complete a funding request form to apply for course fees (this form must be submitted to the CPD team a minimum of 3 weeks before the course start date or application deadline.)

If your funding request form is accepted, you will then be required to sign a learning contract*.
*Please note, you may be asked to apply for/ book your own course. You will be informed of this via email once funding has been arranged. All forms must be completed in full. Any incomplete forms will not be processed.
