NIHR
The majority of the research undertaken at Bedford Hospital is funded and supported by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and is part of the NIHR research portfolio. The NIHR supports research funded by academic institutions, charities and the life sciences industry to ensure the UK benefits economically from health research and patients have access to breakthrough treatments. They also provide training to researchers to ensure all research is of a high quality.
The NIHR’s research delivery arm is the Clinical Research Network (CRN), which is divided into 15 regional areas across the UK. Bedford Hospital is part of the Eastern branch. You can find out more about NIHR by visiting their website, which you can access by clicking here.
