Current work – updated 14th November

During this sustained period of disruption within the L&D site car parking has become extremely difficult. We strongly encourage patients and visitors to use alternative transport (bus, walking or getting dropped off) and leave additional time if you need to park your car on site.

We advise leaving an additional 30 minutes – 1 hour to ensure you are not rushing to your appointment.

Changes to accessing the Maternity Unit/Women’s Health Unit

The drop off and pick up point for labouring mothers and those going home with a baby will now be via St Mary’s car park, accessed from Dunstable Road. These spaces are not for attending appointments or non-urgent attendance.

Relocation of Gynaecology outpatient clinics

The majority of gynaecology outpatient clinics have now been relocated and are situated outside main reception (red brick building by back rack. This will now be referred to as Zone J. Early Pregnancy Clinic will move from Monday 8th April.

The entrance can be located on the ground floor opposite the main hospital entrance. For anyone with mobility issues only or patients with prams etc the unit can be accessed via the Cardiac Clinic 1st floor, Zone B.

Important notice for patients attending Eye Day Surgery
The Eye Day Surgery Unit has temporarily moved location to theatres. Please see the Map on reverse of your appointment letter and follow any signs reporting to Main Reception.

The hospital is undergoing refurbishment and there are accessible issues to the eye day surgery unit. We are unable to accommodate people other than patients. At this time we ask relatives and escorts not to accompany patients to the eye day surgery unit. Many thanks for your cooperation at this time.

We will update this page as work progresses to inform you of any further closures or disruption.
